Registration for the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) is quickly approaching and we want to make sure you are prepared for August 1st. SSAT test sites fill up quickly, so read our tips on how to plan accordingly. It's important to note that this is not a one-size-fits-all process and that the suggestions below are general guidelines. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us .

Set a reminder on your calendar to log on to the registration website on the morning of August 1.
Consider the test format that is best for your student. Students can test in-person on paper at a school site, at home online, or in-person online at a Prometric testing center . We recommend testing on paper or online at Prometric due to glitches in last year's at-home online test.
In addition to the standard test dates, students can also take a Flex test once per year individually or in a small group. Flex tests are administered by member schools or educational consultants. Find more information about Flex tests here .
Before registering, make sure you've taken note of the application deadlines for any of the schools you're considering.
We suggest you register for 2-3 tests in October, November, and/or December.
We recommend students take their winter test before winter break (in December), as it meets cut-off dates and concludes prep and testing. If an early January test date is better for you and will allow you to meet all application cut-off dates, then go for it.
Do not list any of the schools you're considering when you register or else the scores will be directly sent. You can send the scores individually later on.
If your child has a special accommodations request, it must be approved prior to registration. The portal for accommodations requests opens on August 1.
